The principle of Soft separation:
The product is introduced into the separator, and a flexible crushing belt takes it through a perforated drum. By means of adjustable mechanical pressure, the soft parts pass through the perforations of the drum while the hard parts (nerves, cartilage, fish bones, etc.) remain on the outside of the drum and are removed with a scraper.

Sepamatic soft separators allow us to obtain a product that is free of nerves, skin, cartilage and bones, always maintaining the structure of the fibre in both meat and fish.

High performance, coupled with low running costs, explain the success of this process – a process that has unlimited applications:

SEPAMATIC 1800

The food industry’s demand for a high capacity model while maintaining simplicity in operation and cleanliness has led Sepamatic to develop the new Sepamatic 1800 model.

Its simple control system, without electronics or electro-hydraulic components, allows for simple adjustments. In addition to optimising easy cleaning, special attention has been paid to the robustness of the machine. The technology of the Sepamatic 1800 Soft Separator allows you to save the exact settings with the values that are set as optimal by the customer. The Sepamatic 1800 has belt-based feeding and totally automatic feeding with a built-in lifter and turner as options. There is also a version with a cooling system, which minimises the inevitable rise in temperature of the product during the mechanical separation process.

SEPAMATIC 3000

Careful extraction of the product, or its processing through the thorough separation of hard and soft parts, is becoming increasingly popular in the food industry.
In the Sepamatic 3000, the product is inserted between a highly elastic pressure belt and a perforated stainless steel drum and is subjected to pressure. The harder solid parts adhere to the outer surface of the drum and the softer parts pass through the perforations inside the drum. This allows for the careful separation of:

  • Soft separation of skins and fishbones
  • Soft separation of meats and splinters
  • Soft separation of meat cartilage and tendons

Its simple control system, without electronics or electro-hydraulic components, allows for simple adjustments. SEPA-cool

The SEPAmatic is called “soft” because the squeezing pressure is applied via a flexible belt.

From time to time this belt needs replacing. With the SEPAcool the squeezing roller (upon which the flexible belt fits) is cooled dramatically via an external refrigeration unit running at close to minus 20 c.

As a result not only is the belt life increased but so too are production efficiencies and productivity.

APPLICATION

There are many applications for a SEPAmatic! Most people will recognise a garlic press. Of course, on an industrial scale, the SEPAmatic works in the same way by applying controlled pressure to a product to gently separate the hard parts from the soft ones, like –for example– separating garlic from its outer skin / shell. A garlic press is very similar to a SEPAmatic. We can use this process in a wide variety of food products:
